Privacy Policy

Slippage is a static site. We measure readership with Google Analytics, keep data collection to the minimum and never sell your information. This page explains what we handle.

Slippage is a static website that collects as little personal data as possible. We do not sell your information, and we do not run advertising trackers. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens when you use the site. Last updated October 9, 2026.

What we collect

We collect little directly: the site is static and has no user accounts, and the Google Analytics we use is covered below. If you email us or join our optional update list, we hold only the address you give us and use it solely to reply or to send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we will delete your address on request.

Some outbound links are affiliate links that route through our own /go/ redirect and then to a partner platform; if you follow one and sign up, that platform may set its own cookies and may tell us that a referral occurred, but we do not receive your personal trading data. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, which govern what they collect once you leave our site. See our affiliate disclosure for how the links work.

Analytics and your choices

Slippage uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to see which pages are read. It records pages viewed, the referring site, an approximate city- or country-level location, device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off; the data is not used for advertising and is never sold.

Two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, are set — only after analytics is allowed — and last up to two years. In Europe (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, based on the time zone your device reports), a banner asks first, and nothing goes to Google unless you click Accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out. We keep your answer in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

You can change your analytics choice at any time, read Google's privacy policy, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. With analytics off, you can still browse the entire site without providing any personal information, block cookies in your browser, and use privacy tools without losing functionality — nothing here depends on tracking you.
