Affiliate Disclosure
How Slippage makes money, in plain language: some links are affiliate links, the honest baseline we lead with pays us nothing, and the payout never decides the verdict.
Slippage earns money in one main way: some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and open an account with a partner platform, we may receive a commission, at no additional cost to you. This page explains exactly how that works and how we keep it from bending what we say.
Which links are affiliate links
Every affiliate link on this site points to /go/ and then redirects to the partner, and each is marked with rel=“sponsored nofollow.” In our current lane those partners are reputable, regulated, spot-focused platforms: Coinbase, Kraken, Crypto.com and eToro. When a link near a recommendation is an affiliate link, we say so inline, right next to it, so you are never guessing. Ordinary links to our own pages and to sources are not affiliate links.
What we will not do for money
We will not promote anything we consider harmful to a general audience, whatever it pays. That means no signal groups, no trading bots, no leverage or futures venues pushed as a path to gains, no presale, airdrop, meme or “1000×” tokens, and no fixed-high-yield schemes. Those are excluded on principle, not on price. We also treat leverage, margin and futures only as warnings, even though the highest-paying crypto programs are built on exactly those products.
Why our incentives don’t decide the verdict
The most honest recommendation we give — for most people, don’t actively trade; buy a little and hold — earns us nothing, and we lead with it anyway. We also name reputable options with no affiliate program at all, such as Bitstamp, where they are the right answer. If a payout ever pointed one way and the honest answer pointed another, we would publish the honest answer; if you ever catch us failing that test, tell us on the contact page. You can see the standard applied in the platform comparison.
Not financial advice
Finally, nothing on this site — affiliate-linked or not — is personal financial, tax or legal advice. Crypto is volatile, most active traders lose money, and you can lose everything. Do your own research, and only risk what you can afford to lose.
